Why you should be careful about getting skin boosters?
Skin boosters like Scupltra and Radiesse, we call them biostimulators, produce long term if not permanent collagen remodeling. Both are good for skin rejuvenation in the hands of experts.
But be aware that today many of these injections are done by the same non-expert providers who over-filled faces in the last 10 yrs and created a backlash against fillers, who risk doing the same with these powerful skin boosters. Problem is most fillers used to create pillow faces made of hyaluronic acid dissolve with time and can even be reversed if needed, but Sculptra and Radiesse cause long term if not permanent changes that are NOT reversible. So if you find that your face is changing shapes and becoming squarish after a year or two of these injections, it will be most likely for good.
Another issue is the excessive use of hyaluronic acid skin boosters, such as profhilo, which is not considered by lay people as a filler, though it is a very light one, as its deliberate overuse can also distort the face. Fortunately, the effects of these skin boosters are reversible with time.
My word of caution: Facial skin injections are serious medicine and should only be done in the hands of experts who have a long experience in delivering customized restorative and natural enhancements, and are not just following trends. Don't trust your face with anyone else!
